LINDSAY BROWN, CYW, CCT

Meet Lindsay

I absolutely love my work and the young people I work with inspire me every day. I have experience in supporting children and youth of all ages and abilities in community-based, residential and educational settings.

I use a strength-based approach and support children and youth with mental health, relationship and behavioural issues using evidence-based interventions. Creating and maintaining a safe and inviting space where young people can develop and grow is what I strive for.

MARILYN RIVERS, MA, RP

Registered Psychotherapist

Meet Marilyn

For the better part of three decades, my work as a counsellor and therapist has continuously inspired me through the resilience and courage of those with whom I work. As treacherous as the road towards healing can be, I am witness to the awesome—regular people who find new pathways to growth.

My experience from decades of practice tells me healing is more than possible; it is probable. In a safe place of caring and respect, I will accompany you as you find and embrace your personal truth. Together, we will illuminate the fullness of who you are even in the midst of suffering.

Fun Facts

·     A single mom for 30+ years . . . I’m kidding—my son really did grow up, somewhere around the time his incredible wife gave birth to their first child.

·     I was raised in an opera house—not quite; my mother had trained for a career as an opera singer and her life was devoted to music. My early memories have me crawling over the feet of choir members in church pews. Stands to reason my first choice for career would be music, and like mom, I never stopped making music.

·     A lover of animals, I have spent most of my life with a dog by my side—sometimes more than one; and maybe a cat or two . . . Frogs? Bunnies? Goldfish?

·     Since childhood, poetry has showed up on pieces of paper around me. They say I wrote it; I’m not so sure.

MAY TETTERO, MSW, RSW

REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER

PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Meet May

I have been a counsellor and therapist for over 30 years.  I continue to be deeply committed and passionate about psychotherapy, couples counselling and the mind-body-spirit connection. Every day, my clients inspire me with their courage, kindness, and ability to grow and heal.

It is my sincere wish that every individual, couple and family I see have a good experience here.

You may wonder what it is like to share some of your most personal thoughts, feelings and experiences with me.  This is what some of my clients have said in the past, upon completion of their work with me:

May, you have changed my life in many ways. I use the tools daily not only in my marriage but also at work and with my friends.
May was intuitive and non-judgemental, able to refocus me gently but firmly
Our sessions provided my wife and I a platform to break down old barriers in an environment where we felt safe opening up to each other.
May provided insight into our concerns and where our child’s behaviour was stemming from. She guided us through developing new approaches to successfully support our child, allowing us as parents to be more present.

KARINE OUELLET

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Meet Karine

I do my best work assisting others. Since I became a mom, 19 years ago, I have enjoyed bookkeeping and administrative work for my husband’s company, but also volunteering at my kids’ schools and managing hockey teams. Yes, I am a hockey mom, something I never thought I would become.

I have three boys who are very different from one another. Fun fact: one of them wants to be an NHL referee!  I love nature, hiking, whales and kayaking. My best trips were camping by the St-Lawrence river, and going whale watching while kayaking.

I am excited to serve the Counselling and Psychotherapy team as I believe in the importance of helping those dealing with mental, emotional or relational struggles.   I look forward to supporting our therapists so they can focus on what they do best, and making it easy for our clients to access help and assistance.
